State of the District, thank you grade 6 for nominating Mad G. He was great and his parents were excited to be with him.

Thank you all for your participation in PD- I  know being out of the classroom is challenging, but it is so critical that you are always at the top of your game.

Great job to all the teachers giving Tiger Points~!! we had our first Lunch with the Principals, they were so excited. We will continue to expand the store this year. I am looking to add the game room next year.

January 25th - The Arlington Cluster (Arlington High School, and all of the feeder Middle and Elementary Schools) is holding the first ever Equity Symposium. We are calling it ACES- Arlington Cluster Equity Symposium. We are bringing in Victor Rios as our Keynote Speaker and are working to provide Break Out Sessions. Please SAVE THE DATE. This will likely be held from 9 am-3 pm. This is a Saturday, which is the only time we can give all staff her opportunity to get together to learn and grow. This is a voluntary opportunity, but you WON'T WANT TO MISS IT!

I will let you know as soon as tickets are released, it will be first come first served!!! Make sure you sign up as soon as you see the email. 

Thank you teams for your work around writing. It is important that we are understanding the instructional shifts and using writing to INFORM our instruction. We will continue to work with writing during Instructional Rounds.

Instructional Rounds Communication:

Meeting at Hawthorne on 10/31- We will have breakfast from 8-8:30 and instructional design is from 8:30-3:30. We will be discussing at that time what our focus will be and it is VERY LIKELY that we will be coming together on 11/12 to analyze student work and make instructional decisions. We probably will not visit each others classrooms on the 12th. The work will become more clear as we get into the day on the 31st.

Please work with Lori to schedule your data dive days following your assessments. I will get you some basic protocols for this process. Please make sure we are using this data to inform our instruction. (it can serve as information before we teach it, as well as after-how do we fill in gaps) 1 full day!
