3-6 CST will be in Sanci's room #24
Great Things From the Week!
Book Fair!!!! Thank you to the PTA for doing such a great job this week. Thank you teachers for being patient and getting kids engaged in reading.
Positive School Culture and Climate Committee - Thank you for getting together and picking our next two skills- Staying on task and quality work.
Fire Drill - Great job getting kids out and where they need to be. Kinder - Shelley will help make sure they all get out, please lead your lines and get out as soon as possible for the safety of all kids.
Thank you Sanci for presenting at the Staff Meeting. Remember as we do the work, we are getting into alignment with our District's Playbook. It is not new work, it is the work.
Thank you teachers for your professionalism and reflective practices as we move towards student centered classrooms and meeting the needs of all students, everyday. The small group instructional model is not the same as centers. We need to stay focused and address: where are the students and where do they need to go?
***Data tells us where the students are, the standards tell us where they need to go. ***
Congratulations to Bryson Reiter and Sebastian Reynoso - Our first VIP!!!
Thank you K-2 for your hard work with Friday and diving into data for kids!!!

Thank you K-2 for your hard work with Friday and diving into data for kids!!!
As we move closer to a student centered classroom, remember it is important for students to problem solve and Productive Struggle is good. The person in the classroom learning is the person doing the work.....
Think about a coach, where do they stand during a game?
The students, the kids are the ones in the game, they need to do the work, we trust that they can take our guidance and go out and dominate. We give them the plays, we require them to practice, we shout and scream at them encouraging words to keep them motivated until they believe they can do it. We want them all to give 100% so they can win!!! We believe they are talented and are capable of victory.
The success of a coach is as good as the players they coach. WE need to cheer from the sidelines and stop carrying the ball.
As we connect this work to the guide and Danielson, student learning show be evident by the work the students are dong.
As a first step, try to move closer to a 50% teacher talk/ 50% student talk model. (We need to increase intentional student talk/collaboration time)
As a staff we will commit to Intentional Collaborative Conversations.
Give kids the tools and let them learn!!!
Math Manipulatives: Click Here
We will be walking around looking for math manipulative. Please invite us as you have a cool lesson!
MTSS- As you are finishing your BOY assessments, please start thinking about how you are going to group students based on need and data. If you have a large range of need work with your team and Sanci to help reach every student, every day.
Sanci is able to push in and support students as you are making groups- it may be beneficial to do small group instruction in your classroom. All students need to have access to the core so how are you going to ensure you are not taking struggling learners out of their core instruction.
All students should have access to the teacher through out the rotations even if it is just to check in. Make sure all rotations/centers have an accountability piece (how do you know what they completed? Is there a response sheet, online report, etc)
Rotation/center ideas for independent activities while you work in a small group(sample, not exhaustive list):

3-6th Will have their first CST Pull Out Day Sept. 23rd
We are scheduling our first round of CST (Classroom Study Team). Each of you will have a 30 minute meeting with the team to discuss your class, data, concerns, celebrations, rotations, interventions, and needed supports. Please bring the following information to the meeting. The schedule is below, we will send a rover sub to cover your class and we will try to stick to the schedule as close as we can. If there are additional items you think that would be helpful please reply all and share your thoughts. This is designed to support you and your work. We need to serve every student, by name and by need.
BOY data – DIBELS, math, reading, writing data (bring what you have, you do not need to make an assessment for this purpose)
Software Reports – Lexia, AR, Dream box, Reading Plus (you can print data, or just bring your computer with tabs open so we can talk about kids)
EL levels
A list of students participating in any intervention (Wonders Works, Read 180, small group)
There is no expectation for how you bring your data, some people keep portfolios, some just have data sorted by type, it really is designed to meet your needs to bring what works for you.
